Memory 103: Shrek Forever After

I am one of those Shrek fans that catch all the series of Shrek and enjoyed all of them. But somehow, as the Shrek series progress from the first movie to the second movie to the third and now to the forth. It feels that the Shrek feeling is no longer interesting, yeah they had hilarious moments but the storyline is getting tasteless.

Shrek the 1st Movie, Shrek fell in love with Fiona!!

1st movie : Shrek is an ogre minding his own business in his own private swamp enjoying himself until a whole group of fairy tail creature were place into his swamp disturbing his privacy. And the Ogre go out for a quest with Donkey to get back his swamp. This quest is to rescue the princess lock in a tower guarded by a dragon (which later on fell in love with Donkey) and return her to the kingdom for the king to marry her. So the ogre rescued the princess and later eventually slowly falls in love with her. As usual, they had some misunderstanding of some love issues and Shrek return her to the kingdom and the ogre got back his Swamp. And after Donkey cleared up the air, Shrek came crashing into their wedding ceremony and confessed and the princess reveals her secret that she was an ogre too. They both then got married and live happily ever after.

2nd Movie : Shrek was finally married to Fiona, when they think they can have a peace of mind in their own swamp, Shrek and Fiona was summoned back to the kingdom far far away to get Fiona's parents blessing. Shrek and Fiona's dad didn't get along very well, and then Shrek seek for some help from the fairy god mother. Shrek stole a potion that can turn him handsome and gorgeous and he drank it. Him and Fiona turn human and think that he can get her parents blessing when seeing him in this form. But instead, the fairy god mother prevent this from happening and sent prince charming to act as Shrek in order to get the throne of Kingdom Far Far Away. So, as usual, the potion will only last till midnight, and prince charming is now together with Fiona, and Shrek is now dashing is way into the castle to save fiona from prince charming and to give her a kiss that can let the potion last forever. Finally, as always, Shrek arrive and saved the day and again they live happily ever after.

The 3rd Movie, Shrek had to find Arthur

3rd Movie : Shrek and Fiona had received her parent's blessing and remained at the castle instead of his Swamp. One day, Fiona's dad, the King of far far away, died. And Shrek is given the throne of Kingdom Far Far Away. But Shrek was not fit to be a King, so he had to find the last remaining heir of the kingdom who turn out to be a loser named Arthur. meanwhile, Prince Charming form his own allies and take this opportunity to take down the castle since the King is gone, and Shrek is on the hunt for the next heir. Chaos struck Kingdom Far Far Away, as Prince Charming was dying to finish his performance or stage show to kill Shrek and gain the Throne of Kingdom far far Away. Shrek was then captured to save Arthur the next heir from being killed, and all the Shrek friends and all the five princess came to rescue shrek. And Prince Charming was then again Defeated. Shrek and Fiona finally back at their swamp with three little Ogre babies and live happily ever after Again.

Forth~Movie

Like I said, The story is getting a bit tasteless as the series progress. the forth movie shows that Shrek, an Ogre, is an average family man taking care of his kids, becoming a normal citizen. But he just don't see himself as being an Ogre that take care of kids and doing birthday party and being made fun of my humans. He missed the old days when everyone was scared of him and he had his own privacy, no responsibilities, no worries, he can do anything and anytime he wants. He then met Rumpelstiltskin, a horrible deal maker. Shrek is willing to give any day of his past to Rumpelstiltskin in return of being a real Ogre for a day. So the contract was made, and everything became different. Rumpelstiltskin toke a very precious day from Shrek and the whole Time line was altered. Princess was not saved, Rumpelstiltskin was now King of Far Far Away, Witches ruled the lands!!! And Fiona is the clan leader of a group of Ogre trying to kill the Rumpelstiltskin. So, the contract can only be terminated with true love first kiss. So, Shrek have to make Fiona fall in love again. And in the end, they do and they broke the contract and everything was back to normal again. From then on, Shrek cherish the life that he had and they live happily every after, Yet Again!!!!
